Robin's study of art and design is a lifetime passion. She has always loved to create and draw, to combine line and color in a contemporary
perspective. Growing up in a creative family helped to nurture her talents and also helped bond the connection of art with family and
friends. Robin attended the University of Michigan School of Art where she earned her BFA in Graphic Design and Industrial Design. She
has worked in the television industry for numerous years in Detroit, Chicago and LA as a designer and animator for ABC, CBS and FOX
television stations. She has continued her creative learning in Los Angeles through classes at UCLA in writing and illustration and at Otis
School of Art and Design in Textile and Surface Design. Robin's background with product concepting and commercial art has strengthened
her ability to visualize unique solutions for products.
Prior to launching the Robin Pickens brand, Robin served as Executive in Charge of Design and Graphics for Telepictures Productions, a
division of Time Warner. She created on-air graphic packages for a wide range of shows including Ellen, Extra and The Rosie O'Donnell
Show. She continues to design show looks for E! Entertainment and Style Networks. Robin's work in broadcast design has strengthened
her ability to communicate to consumers with high impact graphics, allowing her products to stand out in the marketplace.
After numerous years of broadcast work, Robin knew that although her work was rewarding and exciting, it was time to listen to her soul
and focus on developing work that spoke more from her heart. Robin strives to celebrate the joy in everyday life and share optimism and
friendship through her art, hoping to encourage others. Currently her work can be found on greeting cards, calendars, fabrics, dishware,
partywear, craft supplies, giftware, garden flags, journals, giftwrap, notecards, and more. Robin's work is continuing to expand into the
home decor and decorating markets and she looks forward to spreading more color and cheer in everyday life.
