New pics from the New York Home Fashions Show at the Loloi booth! Wish I could have been there but happy that my agents were able to be there. I have a new line of scatter rugs with fresh fruits and veggies! Yum! Can't wait to add a pop of color to my kitchen with red ripe tomatoes. Thanks Loloi!

I looked with shock today at my blog and realized my last post was last December. How could that be? I really didn't think time was going by that quickly.
In many ways, life has been so full, both of the good and the sadly emotional, that I have had trouble putting words to it. I've stayed busy, very busy...drawing, creating, doing...work is often a calming constant in the midst of everything else that is so often out of our control. In February, I was in Las Vegas at the Gift and Home Show. I had a fantastic time meeting the wonderful people at Loloi Rugs. Ivy has been lovely to work with and I am so excited to be a part of the fantastic rug collections at Loloi! My head was filled with all the great things I had seen and I was on my way to the airport to return home, inspired to get to work. And then there was the message on my cell phone from my mom. My nephew was being rushed to Children's Hospital in Chicago. By the next morning he had been diagnosed with Leukemia. Since then they have been immersed in the world of chemo and treatments and clinic appointments, trying to keep their son going with tutors and home study and as much time as he can handle at school. He is a high school Junior. He managed to pull all A's last year, even with the chemo. Around the same time, we also learned my father-in-law's pancreatic cancer had returned. He has also been through surgery, radiation, and a variety of chemotherapy treatments. We had a great visit with him and my mother-in-law this summer and were happy to be there to celebrate his birthday. So I'm sorry there has not been much communication from me. I've been quiet. I've been trying to be a better listener. And I've been thinking about perspective...what really matters in life. It is truly the relationships we have, the people who touch our lives, our health and well-being, our ability to show love and compassion for each other, the giving and receiving of support, that makes us human and feeling and full. I'm blessed that I have a wonderful family and great friends. I am also so fortunate to have projects to keep my mind busy as well as amazingly wonderful people I work with, both in the broadcast tv design field and in my art licensing work. When I work on something that is inspirational, it has some new meaning to me now, and I hope that is something I can share beyond my own personal journey. |
