Blues, teals, robin's egg blue. Having fun trying out my Blockstep pattern in Dear Mum fabrics. I enjoy looking at the difference in light vs dark backgrounds. The feeling changes completely when the fabrics are against a darker teal vs white.
Happy color-play! PATTERN UPDATE: You can find the new and improved BLOCKSTEP at my shop at www.robinpickensinc.com.

If you're not into art, you wouldn't understand what Blockstep pattern in Dear Mum fabrics is all about. I noticed that the pattern are totally according to color hues family. Pairing colors is one of the hardest things to do especially if you're not inclined into art. I would want to make an art out of this too, once I learn how color pairing works. If I am rich, I will try to paint with this kind of design and put in inside my bed.

I am not sure about back of quit fabrics. 8 yards seems a bit much. Can you help me. Also background fabric. I am using black for both. Thank you. That is for the Blockstep quilt

The 8 yards assumes two seams running the length of the quilt for the Queen size with 4" overage on all sides for longarming. You can get it out of 7 yards with more piecing for a middle row. I would recommend getting wideback 108" fabric and using 3 yards of wideback.

Hi Frances, I'm assuming you are looking on etsy. I only sell digital downloads on etsy but I have a shop powered through shopify at robinpickensinc.com where I sell printed patterns and some kits and fabric. Thanks!

For a King I would add another two vertical rows to increase the width over the queen size (assuming a standard king and not a California king, in which case I might add a row to the length for a California king). I do not have the specs for the exact amounts of background and fabric needed for the increase at this time.
